Space Management Tableau Dashboard

Project Overview

Developed a unified Tableau dashboard integrating SQL-extracted data from Archibus, EmcorVia, and Manhattan Centerstone, along with historic data from Snowflake, for NBCUniversal’s space and work order management. Standardized terminology, collaborated with vendors for data extraction, and replaced manual Excel reports with real-time executive dashboards. Reduced manual reporting by 40% and gave leaders a consolidated, trend-based view for decision-making.

Challenges & Solutions

Challenges

East and West Coast NBCUniversal facilities used different workflows, terminology, and status codes for space management and work orders
No unified reporting framework for executives, making it difficult to get a consolidated view
Historic data was not retained in operational systems — updates overwrote previous records
Data was siloed across Archibus, EmcorVia, and Manhattan Centerstone, requiring manual Excel reports that were emailed to executives
Lack of consistent data governance, making it difficult to align KPIs and reporting metrics

Solutions

Wrote and optimized SQL queries to extract, clean, and prepare data from Archibus, EmcorVia, and Manhattan Centerstone for integration into Tableau
Collaborated with vendor teams for each system to enable secure, accurate data access
Analyzed and mapped East and West Coast workflows, terminology, and status codes to create a unified set of terms for executive reporting
Designed a standardized data model for space management and work order data
Pulled historic data from Snowflake to preserve time-based trends and performance history
Established governance rules to decide which data points required historical tracking
Built an executive-facing Tableau dashboard with visual KPIs for occupancy, work order trends, and space utilization
Coordinated with privacy and cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with data handling policies
